The Motion Picture Sound Editors have nominated "Stephen King's The Shining" and six other miniseries for Golden Reel honors in sound-effects achievement.

The MPSE, which previously released its feature-film sound-editing noms, also unveiled nominations in 10 other TV sound categories as well as finalists for a student-achievement award. Winners will be announced at a March 21 gala at the Century Plaza Hotel in Century City.

Other finalists for miniseries sound-effects and Foley-stage work are "The Arrow," "Cold Lazarus," "George Wallace," "Intensity," "Robin Cook's Invasion" and "Rough Riders."

Nominees for best dialogue editing and automated dialogue replacement in a miniseries are "The Arrow," "Bella Mafia," "Intensity," "The Last Don" and "Rough Riders."
